How to wear off-the-shoulder when you’re Mother


As Image Consultant mums are always asking “what can I do to cover my mommy tummy?” And I always say you don't have anything to cover and I say this because when you try to cover something you don't only cover what you don't like but you cover everything else too. So my point is teaching mothers to draw attention to other areas that they love and feel great about it.

That’s why I love the Off the shoulder trend. The appeal is very much about showing off of your skin. And that’s what we need, a little bit more of a feminine touch, a little bit more sexy to boost our confidence. 


Why should I wear Off-the-shoulder tops/dresses

Drawing the attention to our shoulder and legs will make you appear more flatten and help you disguise your mommy tummy, straight away!!

Below are some inspiration and TIPS for mums! 




Tip 1

Stay away from slim fits, they will do the opposite, choose instead slightly loose silhouettes.

If you are an inverted triangle (wider shoulders than hips) avoid open-shoulder and cold-shoulder tops.

If you already have them, balance them with printed or loose pants/skirts or a bright pair of shoes or embellished boots, see pictures below.

You are a mum (yes, yes we all know that meaning: big boobs, nursing or just having your child pulling down your top all the time) and yes, you think you can’t wear strapless and the only option you have is a cold-shoulder top or dress. 

Well let me tell you, not at all. You CAN still wear your favorite off-the-shoulder tops showing your bra, yes you read it correctly!! Just pick a lace bra and you are in business!!
